Combat System Upgrade

The process of moving over to the new combat system is going well. If you weren’t aware the EQEmulator development has retooled the combat system in the new builds. The new system is more true to EQLive and overall much better than it was before. Since Zebuxoruk was developed around the old combat system some changes have had to be made in order for the content to remain balanced.

Some things you might notice about the new combat system:

  • Melee combat damage will have lower maximums and more consistency.
  • Lower level characters have damage caps.
  • At higher end attacks will land less often for both players and NPCs.
  • Special attack damage (flying kick, backstab, ect.) is much higher.

Because end game content is effected most dramatically by this today I locked all the high end zones down to make sure character didn’t progress through content that was not rebalanced. A lot of work is being put in to get this Combat System in and the server running on the new and improved code. The following zones have been readjusted and reopened already: Veksar, Veeshan, Frosted Halls, Ssraeshza Temple, and Plane of Tactics. I am dedicated to having all the content changed over to this better system as soon as possible.
